On June 12 and 14, 2019 the second cohort of students of the PhD in Data Science presented initial ideas and plans for their thesis research. This is an important yearly event for the novel PhD program, and brought together many members of our growing community.

The students delineated very interesting research directions -- tackling a variety of scientific and methodological questions. Their work will span areas as diverse as deep-learning; social policy evaluation; human behavior; microscopic production networks; individual human mobility; statistical techniques for model selection; and approaches to decipher causation and features’ contributions from machine learning algorithms.

More details on the event can be found here.
